PRAYING WITH PURE HEARTS AND TRUST
In this reflection, Rev. Fr. Kingsley Chukwunonso Ogbu, SMMM reminds us that true prayer flows from a pure heart and unwavering trust in God. Drawing from Isaiah 55:10–11 and Matthew 6:7–15, he teaches that God’s Word never fails and that the Father already knows our needs. Prayer is not about many words, but about faith, sincerity, and forgiveness. When we forgive others and trust fully in God, our prayers become powerful and fruitful.

Be Holy
In this homily for Monday of Week 1 of Lent (Year A), Rev. Fr. Kingsley Chukwunonso Ogbu, SMMM reminds us that God calls us to holiness: “Be holy, for I, the Lord your God, am holy” (cf. Book of Leviticus 19:2). Holiness is not only about avoiding the “DON’Ts” of sin but also about practicing the “DOs” of mercy. Drawing from Gospel of Matthew 25:31–46, he emphasizes that we will be judged by our love in action — through justice, compassion, and the Corporal Works of Mercy.

CONQUERING BY THE WORD
In this First Sunday of Lent reflection, Fr. Kingsley Chukwunonso Ogbu, SMMM reminds us that victory over temptation comes through the Word of God. Just as Jesus conquered the devil in the wilderness by proclaiming Scripture, we too are called to know, believe, and speak God’s Word in our trials. When we stand firmly on the Word, we overcome; when we doubt it, we fall. Lent is our season to return to Scripture and conquer by the Word.
